Bathroom Remodelling

A bathroom or ensuite remodel can come in many different configurations. From an acrylic shower base with tiled walls only, through to tiles covering the entire floor including shower floor as well as floor to ceiling walls being tiled. Wall shelves and niches can be installed to create a beautiful open feel to a shower or wall.

We are currently seeing a trend to have one wall tiled as a feature wall with some just stunning tiles in outlet shops. Remember to include an underfloor heat mat for that warm, luxurious feel.

Generally floors are tiled in the wet rooms such as bathrooms or standalone toilets, however dining rooms, lounges, hallways and also front and rear door entrances are beautiful areas for tiles. For homeowners with allergy concerns, having tiles installed is a must, allowing for easy cleaning of surfaces. Don’t forget in front of ranch sliders where the sun can damage the carpet.

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating is an absolute must if you're setting up or redesigning a guest space and you want to give them an incredible experience. or want to treat yourself to a warm, luxurious space.

Underfloor heating can be designed to suit rooms of any size and configuration and are economical when set at a low setting.

TILEStyle have been installing DEVI underfloor heating for over 20 years and can guarantee you will fall in love with this addition. A qualified electrician is required to connect the underfloor heating to the thermostat.

Ceramic Tile

Ceramic tiles come in many different sizes, colours and finishes, beautifying any wall. They are a lighter and softer tile compared to a porcelain tile. For this reason, the manufacturer would need to confirm suitability for floors. Because a softer, finer clay is makes up the tile, the face of the tile can be shape, creating many beautiful looks.

Ceramic tiles tend to be a more cost effective choice than procelain.

Mosaic Tile

Porcelain Tile

Porcelain tiles are very durable and resistant to scratches as they are more dense and harder than ceramic tiles. They are highly resistant to water and are very low maintence. Porcelain tiles are a very popular choice for bathrooms.

Waterproofing

We are certified installers of a number of waterproofing products, with Sika and ARDEX products being the current go-to. and are also recognized by our local councils.

With recent changes to the NZ building code, waterproofing
has now become a bigger requirement with larger area’s now being required to be waterproofed.

The installation has to be done once and done right.

Use of Epoxy Grout

Epoxy grout is a grout made of epoxy resins and combined with a filler powder. This makes it waterproof and almost completely resistant to stains.

Because epoxy grout is very durable, it's an ideal choice for splashbacks, floors and high-traffic areas.
